When our friend Joao Vasconcelos led us to the former military maintenance and food production complex on Lisbon’s eastern edge earlier this year, we were struck by its quiet grandeur. The site, with its austere architecture and rugged, unpolished edges, felt like a hidden enclave—a village within the city, rich with promise. We simply fell in love with the neighbourhood. The raw, authentic atmosphere was unmistakable. Sensing its potential, we didn’t hesitate.
