Today we’re excited to announce that Typedef is joining Factory to bring deeper data context to autonomous software engineering.

As enterprises put Droids to work across their software systems, a change to a data model can ripple through definitions, pipelines, and dashboards. Without a clear view of those dependencies, it is harder to plan a migration, check a refactor, or explain the result.

Typedef builds a context layer from code that makes those relationships visible. Factory brings the harness that lets Droids work within a customer’s environment. Together, we will give engineers clearer lineage and evidence as Droids plan migrations, debug pipelines, and refactor models.

Factory is a place where founders can keep building like founders. In conversations across our teams, Yoni Michael and Kostas Pardalis found the same high-agency, flat culture, ambition without ego, and drive to learn that shaped Typedef. We share a technical conviction: customers should control their infrastructure. The value is in their data, their environment, and the harness around it. AI should elevate engineers into designers and operators of the factories that build software, not replace them.

Data infrastructure is where this pattern can come into focus. Typedef already hears from customers ready to build this way. Yoni and Kostas believe this is where the future of software is being built. Together, we can do more than either team could alone.

Welcome to Factory, Yoni, Kostas, and the Typedef team. Come build with us.

About the founders

The Typedef team brings significant expertise in building core data infrastructure. Before Typedef, Yoni Michael co-founded Coolan, which used machine learning and large-scale infrastructure analytics to help enterprises optimize data center reliability and efficiency. Coolan’s technology was deployed across more than 100,000 servers before its acquisition by Salesforce in 2016. He went on to lead infrastructure engineering teams at Salesforce and later at Tecton. Kostas Pardalis founded Blendo, used by more than 400 companies, and later led product at RudderStack and Starburst. Together, the Typedef team brings deep expertise in building enterprise data platforms, scaling complex infrastructure, and developing secure, customer-hosted systems, with experience spanning Snowflake, Salesforce, and Tecton.

About Factory

Factory brings autonomous software engineering to the enterprise. Factory helps enterprises run a governed, model-independent system that turns business priorities and engineering signals into production software. Droids plan, build, validate, and improve work inside each company’s infrastructure, policies, and approved models. Every workstream learns from measured results, expanding engineering capacity, improving quality, and tying engineering to business results. Factory was founded in 2023 by Matan Grinberg and Eno Reyes and is headquartered in San Francisco.
