Breweries, Bombs & Bunkers: Factory Berlin (Phase I)

The first phase of transforming the Oswalder Brewery in Berlin has been exciting to say the least. As the decades-old white plastered walls came down, sunlight streamed through freshly blown-out windows, breathing new life into the space. Each day brought revelations: a treasure trove of historic beer bottle caps, vintage signs, and forgotten relics that whispered stories of a bygone era. Hidden rooms—absent from any floorplan—emerged behind thick walls. We call them portals to the past. And then, the ultimate surprise: a long-buried bunker in the front yard, still harboring live grenades, turning one day into an unforgettable adventure. Construction can be fun, especially when it’s a respectful unearthing of history, weaving the brewery’s interesting past into a new foundation for a bright future.
