Our mission is to create a world where software builds and improves itself.
We build the platform for self-improving software development, helping the world's largest enterprise engineering teams turn their organizations into autonomous software factories. Customers including Nvidia, Blackstone, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Palo Alto Networks, Adobe, and T-Mobile run Factory to ship code, review PRs, run tests, and deploy continuously — getting smarter with every cycle.
In 2026, we raised $200M at a $5B valuation, bringing our total funding to over $400M. We are backed by world-class investors and operators including Khosla Ventures, Sequoia, Blackstone, Ali Ghodsi (CEO of Databricks), and Frank Slootman (Former CEO of Snowflake).
Factory is looking for a Federal Compliance Lead to build and run our federal compliance program from the ground up. As we grow across civilian, defense, and intelligence agencies, you will make sure every government deal meets federal acquisition, security, and ethics requirements while keeping deals moving. You will partner closely with our Federal sales team, Deal Desk, Legal, Engineering, and Security, and you will own the policies, processes, and guidance that let Factory sell to the U.S. government with confidence.
Build Factory’s Federal Compliance Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain Factory’s public sector sales compliance program from the ground up, establishing policies, standard operating procedures, and monitoring mechanisms for government deals.
Accelerate Factory’s Federal Transactions: Partner directly with Federal Account Executives and Deal Desk from opportunity qualification through award. Review RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for compliance obligations, flow-down clauses, commercial item determinations (FAR Part 12), and contractual risk.
Enforce Statutory and Regulatory Standards: Ensure comprehensive compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Procurement Integrity Act, Trade Agreements Act (TAA), Buy American Act, and NDAA Section 889.
Bridge Product, Security, and Public Sector Standards: Partner closely with Engineering and Security to align Factory’s product roadmap with federal certifications and authorization requirements, including ITAR, FIPS, SOC FedRAMP, DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG / IL levels), and NIST SP 800-53 / 800-171 controls.
Govern Ethics and Integrity Programs: Administer company-wide federal ethics guidelines, managing organizational conflicts of interest (OCI), post-government employment restrictions, anti-kickback policies, and gift/entertainment rules for public sector interactions.
Monitor Emerging Federal AI Policy: Track federal AI governance directives (including OMB memos and agency-specific AI acquisition guidelines) and Cyber Supply Chain Risk Management (C-SCRM) mandates, translating evolving policy into actionable operational guidance.
Public Sector Expertise: 6+ years of hands-on experience in federal procurement compliance, government contracts management, or federal sales operations at an enterprise SaaS, cloud platform, or high-growth defense tech company.
Mastery of Federal Regulations: Deep working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, commercial software contracting practices, Other Transaction Authority (OTA) mechanisms, and federal subcontract flow-downs.
Cloud & AI Compliance Literacy: Proven track record operationalizing compliance frameworks for cloud software, including familiarity with FedRAMP authorization pathways, DoD Impact Levels, and NIST compliance frameworks.
A Builder Mindset: You are excited to build a compliance program from scratch, comfortable operating in high-velocity, ambiguous environments, and proactive about finding scalable solutions that enable sales momentum.
Crisp Cross-Functional Communication: Exceptional ability to synthesize dense regulatory requirements into clear guidance for sales executives, software engineers, corporate counsel, and federal Contracting Officers (COs/CORs).
Clearance Eligibility: U.S. Citizenship is required for this role due to access to federal contract data and federal systems; holding an active U.S. security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) or having the ability to obtain one is preferred.
Location: We have a strong preference for this role to be in Washington D.C.
